We dug out a massive winner in this last year in the shape of Beauport and while it looks competitive again I think the market has it right this time around with KNAPPERS HILL (best price 9/2) the 9/2 favourite at the time of writing. I think that’s a price worth taking as Nicholls has targeted this race with him and while he’s been beaten the last twice that has helped his handicap mark and off the same mark that saw him sixth in a Betfair Hurdle I think he could have a bit in hand here. He goes up in trip which should bring about further improvement and this track is likely to suit him better. His bumper form was very smart and even in defeat over hurdles the form looks strong, most notably behind Jonbon and Colonel Mustard at Ascot. He’ll get a lovely toe in and he is a horse I want to keep firmly on side. Our Jet is on a hat-trick so has to be feared but Peejaybee may pose a greater threat as he also looks progressive now.
