With the cheekpieces refitted following a wind op I’m expecting a big run from NAIZAGAI at Sedgefield on Tuesday. He made a really promising start over fences chasing home Crack Du Ninian on chase debut here back in October. He failed to back that up when beaten heavily at Kempton but bounced straight back when denied just a head at Taunton in November. He raced off the same mark at Warwick in December but could only manage fourth looking outpaced. He disappointed at Leicester when last seen in January but down another 3lb and stepping up in trip I think there is good reason to expect him to go close. Just Call Me Al is an obvious threat on recent form but his consistent run came to an end when heavily beaten at Catterick so he has a bit to prove off the back of that. Blueberry Wine remains interesting but he doesn’t find much off the bridle which is enough for me to oppose especially up to this trip now.
