The Grand Annual is typically competitive as you’d expect but I do think THYME WHITE is a cracking each way bet. He has been a work in progress over fences but I loved the way he won at Doncaster back in December and put away since this has clearly been the plan. He bumped into Amarillo Sky on chase debut at Wincanton but that was a likeable effort sticking to the task. He was then pitched into a tough race at Ascot but unseated at the very first flight. It was good to see him back on track last time and I thought it was eye-catching how strongly he travelled into that before putting it to bed readily. He could have a fair bit in hand off a mark of 142 and I can see the hustle and bustle of this race suiting him. I also like Embittered and A Wave Of The Sea in here but from solely a price perspective I think he represents the best value compared to his chance.
