GYTO's Friday notebook double pays 7/1.
14:00 Doncaster
Since switched to chasing DOUGLAS TALKING has taken off winning impressively in a good race at Musselburgh last month. He followed up beating a decent yardstick in Torpillo at Sandown and is clearly on the upgrade now. A 7lb demands more but he is unexposed and you’d be foolish to rule out further improvement. I thought he’d be shorter than he is currently. This is a good race though so there will be a few dangers. Ahead Of The Field bumped into Nocte Volatus at Doncaster but is heading the right way and that form makes him the main danger to the favourite. Broadway Joe is obviously held by the selection but he remains in good form and is likely to give his running again. Global Fame is quite a big price too as he will come on for that reappearance run at Chepstow.
19:30 Wolverhampton
I’m really keen on the chances of JEANS MAITE at Wolverhampton on Friday night. This mare is in the form of her life winning her last two over this trip at Southwell. She thrashed an in-form horse in Bernard Spierpoint before showing a good attitude to prevail last time. She made all and while the second closed fast late she had put the race to bed quite convincingly so is probably value for more than the winning margin. The front pair pulled clear too so a further 4lb rise is unlikely to anchor her. Bated Breath filly Cuban Breeze is definitely the danger to the selection. She has won here and scored at Chelmsford on debut for this yard before going down just half a length last month. The winner has let that form down since though which sways my vote strongly towards the favourite.
