GYTO's Sunday notebook double pays 6/1.
14:30 Chepstow
There was lots to like about the way GATS AND CO finally made the breakthrough under Rules winning by 14 lengths over fences over the extended 3 miles here last month. The second Wind Tor has won her next start convincingly to frank the form. He has been put up 10lb from that but he has plenty of potential now he has got his head in front and that might not be enough to stop him following up here. He cuts back in trip slightly so I’d want them to go a decent gallop as if it turns tactical that certainly wouldn’t suit. Fellow last time out winner Mr Katanga looks the danger after improving to win here last time. He has been slammed 14lb which looks a bit harsh but like the selection he should have more to come. Colonel Keating is quite a big price as he was back to form last time so could easily hit the frame.
16:20 Downpatrick
With 2 wins from her last 4 starts MEMORY OF YOUTH can go in again at Downpatrick on Sunday. She is back over fences off a much lower mark and after just 3 starts in this sphere there could be a fair bit of improvement to come yet. She should relish conditions and the drop back in trip should also play to her strengths. School Lane brought up a hat-trick of wins at Fairyhouse in January but has been beaten the last twice. He needs a bit more help from the assessor to win this I think but shouldn’t be too far away. Nuttorridge has been freshened up so could run well but he did lose his way when last seen so a bounce back is called for. Galon De Vauzelle is another one out of form but if he can rediscover his form he might also have a squeak on handicap chase debut. He is a reserve currently though so might not get in.
