13:00 Market Rasen

With 2 wins from just 3 runs at Market Rasen PRESUMING ED gets a confident vote to return to winning ways on Tuesday. He has bumped into a couple of improvers the last twice and off the same mark that saw him runner-up here last month he can go one better here. Archie Bellamy claims a handy 3lb and this slight step back up in trip should also help. The ground should suit and for me he remains on a winnable mark. George Bancroft bumped into Forever Blessed before unseating here on penultimate start. He was pulled up at Wincanton last time but something looked amiss. If he bounces back here he could be the danger but on the balance enough to prove at present. Cheng Gong was given too much to do last time and is better than that so could also have a say in the finish.

Only the 6 runners heading to post for this but it is a very good race and I think CASTLE ROBIN could be set to follow up. He justified strong support to get back to winning ways at Doncaster last month and the form has been franked since with the second Geryville winning at Newcastle. He should have more to come over fences and as competitive as this I want to keep him on side. I can see him bouncing out in front again and if he gets into a decent rhythm off the front he should take a fair bit of catching on this ground. Fern Hill is obviously a talented horse too and I certainly wouldn’t be writing him off as he didn’t seem to handle deep ground at Ascot. This surface should see him in a better light so he looks the danger. Tallow For Coal catches the eye at a price but he needs to avoid errors to feature which is easier said than done.
