GYTO's Wednesday notebook double pays 10/1.
14:10 Wincanton
Given he is proven fresh I can see SALLEY GARDENS making a winning return at Wincanton on Wednesday. This horse took a big step forward winning 3 of his 4 starts in the autumn and he has looked particularly impressive the last twice. He is up another 6lb but the way he moved through the race at Fakenham last time he looked to have a bit in hand off his mark and I think he’ll prove hard to beat here. The Raven’s Return chased home an improver when second at Carlisle on debut for this yard and might not be far away again if building on that. Get The Appeal pulled up at Kempton when last seen and while some of his form last year is decent he has a bit to prove off the back of that. The better ground should help so he might be the danger. Getaway Cory is also respected despite being 2lb out of the handicap.
19:30 Kempton
A steadily run race was massively against DIDEROT at Newcastle last time and I think he is a lot better than that. His previous half a length second to My Oberon was a very good run and his two starts prior to that are also eye-catching. If they go a good gallop here I think he’ll bounce back and resume his progress for James Ferguson. He is off the same mark and should run a big race under Danny Muscutt. Roman Mist was a good second to Maamora in a Listed race at Lingfield when last seen but the handicapper has hit her quite hard for that so while she is respected this is going to require a career best on her return. That might leave Fantasy Believer as the main danger as he has won 3 times over this C&D in the past and was a good second on debut for Ed Walker over this track and trip earlier this month.
