With just the 4 starts as a 3yo I’m expecting there to be much more to come from PETER THE GREAT (best price 15/8)  this season. He won 2 of those 4 starts and while he was only fifth when last seen at Newmarket that race worked out notably well and he is one to keep on side today and going forward I think. He should turn out to be a lot better than a mark of 92 so if things fall right here on his return he will likely take a fair bit of beating. Injazati is a nice colt himself and he didn’t;t look to get home in the Old Rowley Cup so back down to this trip he is definitely the main danger to the selection. Pride Of America left previous form behind to win at Newcastle last month on debut for Amy Murphy and if he can transfer that to turf here he might also be in the mix. Rhythmic Intent is a big price but might just need a bit more help from the handicapper.

The market has this between Signal Point and HILLVIEW (best price 9/4) and it’s the latter I’m keen to side with. He has won 2 of his last 3 now and has come into his own since his stamina has been drawn out. He was given a patient ride over C&D last month and after being impeded late on he got the race in the stewards room. The form has been franked since with the horse that finished first past the post The Questioner winning his next start convincingly and the third Ratoute Yutty also going in next time out. A 5lb rise looks perfectly manageable and I think he is very solid here and should follow up. Signal Point is a decent mare but she has to prove herself over this trip now sent handicapping. All Thumbs Up also going up in trip on debut for this yard and I wouldn’t want to see him heavily backed in the market as that could turn out to be significant.
