I’m chancing Profitable colt MITBAAHY (best price 3/1) to return with a win at Nottingham on Wednesday. He was last seen disappointing in the Group 3 Cornwallis Stakes at Newmarket but he didn’t really look to handle the track and he had been on the go since July too so I think there were a few excuses on the day. His previous form was very solid getting within 2 lengths of Vertiginous at Listed level prior to that flop. He can do better as a 3yo and if he is fit enough and the weather doesn’t deteriorate too much I think he is the one to be on. Papa Don’t Preach won at Wolverhampton on debut for this yard back in November but he was entitled to and needs to back that up now. He has been gelded since but I wouldn’t want to be taking too short a price about him. Mohi might be a bigger danger as he is likely to improve again as well.

A competitive race but LAFAN (best price 3/1) has impressed lately winning well over C&D back in January and then backing that up with a big run in defeat when denied a head last time. He is only 1lb higher here and still has scope off this mark. He will likely be ridden forward by Sean Levey and I can see him taking a bit of catching here. His form figures at this track read 112 so it clearly suits him really well. Another horse that goes particularly well here is Proclaimer being a 5-time C&D winner so it’s no surprise to see the betting suggesting he is the main danger. He was all out to win last time though and is up another 2lb tonight. Of the rest Coase shouldn’t be ruled out as he has been in great form and if everything drops right he is still capable of going close. Flyin’ High should come on for that reappearance run but needs to.
