18:15 Chelmsford
The best is yet to come with FORESHADOW and I think he has a good opportunity to finally open his account at Chelmsford tonight. He ran his best race to date when beaten just a neck off a reduced mark at Southwell last month and was denied a run at a crucial stage when staying on well for third at Wolverhampton last time. He runs off the same mark here and with a clearer passage through I think he can take advantage. Gee Eight is likely to race freely off the front so hopefully he has a good target to run down. The danger looks to be the unexposed Satanic Moon who is likely to improve now tackling handicap company. Moonlit Warrior is another one that is bred to do better now so has to be noted and at a bigger price Away Wit Da Fairys also has a squeak if everything drops right.
15:45 Taunton
Following an excellent second to Fair Frontieres it was good to see EARTH LORD back in the winners enclosure at Kempton last month. That was a very convincing performance coming some 24 lengths clear at the line. He made all the running and gradually wound it up before getting them all in trouble. He goes back handicapping now but a mark of 132 shouldn’t be beyond him with this extra yardage possibly being a catalyst for further improvement too. The danger looks to be Time To Tinker who impressed winning here in October and then followed up at Wincanton. He bumped into one when runner-up last time and another big run looks on the cards here. Bells Of Peterboro won stylishly at Chepstow in December but hasn’t gone on since. He is down 3lb but I think he’ll need more help from the handicapper to feature.
