This doesn’t appear as though it will take a great deal of winning so I think that makes CLAIM THE STARS a strong play for Tim Easterby. He had some really good form to his name while trained by Mark Johnston and it would be no surprise to see him take a sizeable step forward on debut for his new yard now he has been gelded. He has a tongue tie on for his return and looks to have found a good opportunity to make the breakthrough. I’m expecting David Allan to take him forward and put his experience to good use. The danger is likely Rambuso Creek as he is a work in progress as well. He wasn’t disgraced at York but didn’t look the easiest of rides in the closing stages. He’ll need to improve but could emerge as the main threat. Cape Sunset is another one that could get involved but is drawn out in the car park which makes life difficult.

Another case of this race looking very winnable rather than the selection having glaringly obvious claims. FOX LE BEL is still a maiden but it is hard to knock his recent form when beaten just 3 lengths at Punchestown. That was a good effort given the mistakes he made and if he can brush up his jumping here with 5lb claimer Shane Fitzgerald booked for the ride he really should be getting his head in front. He needs to be smuggled into the race so hopefully, it doesn’t turn tactical. With 16 horses heading to post you’d expect them to go a good gallop which will help. Back up in trip Frazel Express is the likely danger following a good fourth at Naas last time. Loup De Tallane is also back up in trip and could be one to hit the frame if building on that latest run. This lacks any real strength in depth so perhaps Allora Yeats will emerge as best of the rest.
