French recruit GRIVETANA (best price 5/1) was all the rage for her debut on these shores at Wincanton back in February but she did too much too soon in that race and just got tired on the rain softened ground. She was only beaten 3 and a half lengths though so it wasn’t a bad effort by any means. That must have blown the cobwebs away as she showed what she was capable of at Chepstow last month, slamming the opposition virtually on the bridle. She looks a filly with considerable potential to me and while the handicapper hasn’t let her in lightly I think she can give weight and a beating to these. With Bryony Frost on the sidelines 5lb claimer Angus Cheleda takes the ride and he is good value for that claim. I expect her to get covered up early before looking to pick them off late. The harder they go the better and I’m pleasantly surprised to see her trading at 5/1 at the time of writing as that looks much too big to me.
