GYTO's Sunday notebook double pays 12/1.
16:35 Plumpton
I’m sticking with two horses in winning form for our Notebooks on Easter Sunday with the first of them running at Plumpton. MIDNIGHTS LEGACY was an impressive winner on handicap debut at Ludlow and given she won going away an 8lb rise in the weights shouldn’t be enough to anchor her here. She has a real likeable attitude and I think Alan King has found the right race for her to go and follow up under Tom Cannon. Aucunrisque was in great form before being highly tried behind Jonbon at Aintree last time. If he bounces back he could emerge as the main danger to the selection. Mark Of Gold has won 3 of his last 4 and did well to prevail by a nose at Newbury. He was all out on that occasion though and a further 4lb rise is certainly going to test his credentials. Antunes best of the rest but this is more competitive so he’ll also need more.
18:00 Southwell
The hat-trick seeking DOWN TO THE KID looks to have plenty going for him at Southwell on Easter Sunday. He won despite being uneasy in the betting over C&D at the start of the month and he looked to have a fair bit in hand still on that occasion. He is up another 5lb but remains open to further improvement and I think he can go in again with Lewis Edmunds taking over in the saddle. He can be keen so I’d like to see him settle in the early stages. The dark horse in the race looks to be Cast Crudo who is making his handicap debut now and can progress. Foreshadow hasn’t really shown what he is capable of recently and is also worth a second look as he did catch the eye on his penultimate run. Away Wit Da Fairys is consistent and won’t be far away but he doesn’t look to have much in hand off his current mark so will likely struggle to contain this favourite.
