Twilight Secret will likely prove quite popular here but given we haven’t seen him since September last year I think he might be opposable at cramped odds. He obviously has more to come for his new yard but this certainly is no given and MI CAPRICHO stands out at the prices. He went into my notes when beating Arranmore convincingly at Hamilton back in the summer last year. He made all on that occasion and kept finding to fend them all off. He won again at the same venue a couple of starts later and the way he won that day this mark should be well within reach. I know he has an absence to overcome as well but under positive tactics he will get first run on most of these and that could be the difference. Irish recruit Ramon Di Loria looks most interesting of the rest with the hood back on now. Sir Maxi has a fitness edge but is on a lengthy losing run.

Given the way LUMINOUS LIGHT won on debut, I’m keen to chance him bouncing back at Chepstow on Thursday. He let backers down at Chester but he quite clearly didn’t handle the track and ran green before backing out of it. He is much better than what we saw there. He is likely to have strengthened up plenty now and if he has filled out his frame he could be a nice colt this season. Echo Chamber and Ajero are likely to go forward so hopefully, he can get a bit of cover as that could be where we see the best of him. Lost Gold looked a nice prospect winning on debut at Wolverhampton but has to transfer that to turf now and is quite short in the betting. Nathanael Greene is the one I fear most as he ran well at Lingfield on second start and is also likely to come into his own now. Earth Giant looks a longer-term prospect to me so is best watched for now.
