The market is already starting to speak favourably about MORTY and I’m keen to weigh in with that support. This son of Kingman looks to be coming to the boil judging by his three-quarter length defeat at Wetherby last time. He finished really strongly and I think under a better ride he would have picked them up. He just needed to start his effort sooner and the way he hit the line suggests he has a massive chance off the same mark. He is fitter now and granted usual luck in-running I think he can peg these back late. The fifth King Of Tonga has won since so the form has been franked as well. In terms of a danger it would have to be Burj Malinka who was caught a bit wide last time and still has potential off this mark if bouncing back. Mansfield is also considered on his best form but he doesn’t get his head in front too often.

Almanzor colt CHAIRMAN gets his day in the sun at Salisbury on Sunday. He bumped into a smart horse in the shape of Nahanni at Leicester and with further improvement should get his head in front. This looks a good opportunity and I think connections will be disappointed if he can’t come away with the prize. I’m quite surprised to see Ring Fenced as close in the betting as while she will improve from that debut run she looked very green to me and I think she’ll need more time and experience. Havaila is an interesting debutant but from the Stoute yard they usually improve for the run. Valsad has a future too but again I just think the selection will be sharper here and ready to go. I’m hoping the selection pushes forward and tries to make all as I think the others are still learning their trade whereas he should be streetwise now.
