Sunday Racing Tips from Steve Ryder

The Kevin Ryan trained FORZA ORTA (best priced at 7/4) is extremely consistent with form figures of 2222133 in his career and I am hoping he gains a much deserved success in this race. The four-year-old ran well to finish 3rd on his reappearance (beaten only a length) at Thirsk on soft ground but should be better suited by this return to faster ground in this race.

Forza Orta won a novice race here over 1m3f last season by four lengths so we know he likes this track and he should prove hard to beat with his reappearance run under his belt off the same mark.

John Gosden has won this listed Pretty Polly Stakes five out of the last eight years including with the top class Taghrooda and Lah Ti Dar and I feel his representative CRENELLE (best priced at 13/8) will prove hard to beat in this race. The well bred daughter of Kingman finished an eyecatching 3rd on her debut at Southwell under a poor ride from Martin Harley but made no mistake under Frankie Dettori on her next start at Newmarket over a mile. 

Crenelle stayed on well that day over a mile shaping like this step up to 1m2f will suit her well and the pair pulled 8 ½ lengths clear of third which makes the form of that race look strong. She looks a worthy favourite given her trainers good record in the race and I expect her to prove hard to beat. 

The Tristan Davidson trained IRIS DANCER (best priced at 2/1) has been running consistently well for her new stable with form figures of 232225433 and hopefully she can get off the mark for new connections in this race. She has finished 2nd four times at Hamilton but I am hoping that first-time cheekpieces can mean that she finds more in the finish of the race.

Iris Dancer should benefit from her recent reappearance run at Ayr when 3rd beaten only ½ length and she should run well off the same mark of 62 with Jason Hart once again on board.
