16:00 Lingfield

Three-time C&D winner IMPEACH looks worth siding with again at Lingfield on Tuesday. This son of No Nay Never clocked a career best making all over track and trip last month and even with a 5lb rise I think it would take a brave man to oppose. He ran on strongly under Neil Callan and did it with a bit to spare at the line. Soyounique who was a tired sixth that day came out and won his next start so the form has been given some substance too. He will likely go forward again and should take plenty of catching. Touchwood was only denied a neck on return over 7f and looks the main danger dropping back in trip. I wouldn’t say he has a great deal in hand off his mark though and he is short enough in the betting. Ooh Is It met trouble at Windsor last time and might do better here but can be keen and that could end up costing him again.

Having made a winning debut before being disqualified and then bumping into one MOUNTBATTEN deserves to reward connections now. He was slowly into stride last time and raced keenly before finding Mizzen You too strong. That was still a good effort but I think he’s better than that. With further improvement to come he can belatedly open his account. When he was first past the post on debut he made all so it won’t surprise me if Hollie Doyle makes the most of him again here. The danger looks to be Tickets who ran well when second to Ribbon Rose last time and with further improvement to come should make a race of it with the selection. Of the rest Fourth Time Lucky was a good second at Catterick and also looks to have a future so if building on that can’t be ruled out either. If the selection gets this run to suit off the front he will be hard to peg back.
