Given the way POCKET THE PROFIT (best price 11/2) finished at Newmarket last month I still think he is improving. He was held up in rear and perhaps just found it a bit tougher to get involved under the penalty but once he found his stride he really picked up and was only beaten a length and a half at the line. He didn’t really have anything to take him into the race and I still think he has potential off his current mark. He has a wide enough stall but given he is likely to be settled early before looking to pounce late it might actually suit as he won’t get crowded up the inside like they can. This tight track might be just what he wants as he needs to track a good gallop and use that burst in one go. Ever Given is a smart colt and he is the right favourite but at 11/2 I think the selection looks a good price to spring the upset. Of the rest Auditor still has more to come and has to be respected too but he is drawn as wide as you can get here.
