The money came for PERFECT FOCUS (best price 4/1) at Wolverhampton last month and while he failed to land the gamble I think it might have only been money borrowed by the bookies. He was held up that day and could never land a blow but wasn’t actually beaten too far and dropped another 1lb from that I’ll be very surprised if he can’t get competitive off a mark of just 67 here. He drops down to a Class 6 for the first time in his career and given he has performed creditably in a Class 4 in the past he should find this much easier than recent assignments. His best run was when he was up with the pace so I think we could see a change in tactics here under Ray Dawson. Bated Breath filly Inclement Weather won at Kempton last time but I wasn’t all that taken with that and a 3lb rise might be enough to stop her following up. I think she is a weak fav at the time of writing. If Makambe builds on that last run he might be the main danger.
