The money was down for SON AND SANNIE (best price 13/8) at Windsor on return and he made no mistake running on strongly at the finish to win going away at the line under Harry Davies. He is unpenalised for that given it was an apprentice event and with Benoit De La Sayette claiming a handy 7lb he looks sure to go close. He has run well at this track before and ticks plenty of boxes so it’s no surprise to see him trading as favourite. High Security was beaten a neck at Pontefract last month and looks the danger off the back of that but has been nudged up 2lb. Dandy Spirit has changed yards and has gone well fresh before so shouldn’t be entirely ruled out either. Mick’s Spirit is having just his third start on turf so might find a bit more but again he will have to go some to contain the selection who looks sure to take the beating.

This looks a great opportunity for RUITH LE TU (best price 2/1) to bring up the hat-trick! He has only won both starts narrowly so the handicapper can’t punish him too much and he looks capable of handling a further 4lb rise. The second Goldsmith was an eye-catcher behind him last time and the third Away Wit Da Fairys has solid form in the book so it all stacks up. Kingofhell is still a maiden but has been showing more encouraging signs recently so might be the one to give him something to think about. Sun Emperor is likely to improve now handicapping but might need a bit more time to be seen to best effect. Baileys Liberty goes up in trip but I think connections are scratching their heads a bit and Ideal Guest needs to do more on what we’ve seen recently to get involved here. Not a great deal of strength in depth.
