I was really impressed with the way VIADELAMORE won on return at Redcar and with potential to do better as his stamina is drawn out he gets a confident vote to follow up at Salisbury on Thursday. That was his first time running in handicap company and he looked a fair way ahead of his opening mark to me. The fourth Zimmerman has won well since to give the form some substance and a 5lb rise doesn’t look enough to stop him going in again. He hit the front soon enough the last day and really galloped out well so I don’t think Hector Crouch will be overly bothered as to where he is positioned as he looks versatile to me. Teumessias Fox won impressively at Newcastle on just his third start but failed to handle the undulations of Epsom last month. It’s still early days so he could emerge as the danger. Madame Ambassador is another one to watch for as well.

Free Eagle colt BOLTHOLE looked a really nice prospect when he won on debut at Windsor as a 2yo. He looked to have a breathing issue on his second start at Newbury and was put away after that disappointment. He had a wind op over the winter and returned with an encouraging enough effort when third at Sandown just getting tired in the closing stages. He should be spot on for this now and for me still retains plenty of potential. The obvious danger is Haunted Dream who is on a hat-trick. He is up another 4lb but shouldn’t be underestimated. If the selection improves as I’m hoping though I don’t think he’ll be in the same league and his chance is only if Bolthole runs below par. Bulleit looks comfortably clear from the rest given his good recent form but he is 2lb higher and the handicapper might have him for now. It’s still early days for Spy but he was bitterly disappointing at Epsom.
