Irish raider HUDDLE UP (best price 2/1) can follow up and make a winning start for his new yard at Thirsk on Saturday. He may have only prevailed by a short head at Navan when last seen but I thought he was value for more and up just 4lb with Lewis Edmunds taking over in the saddle this looks a great opportunity to go in again. He sports a first-time eye-shield here which should sharpen him up and they might not see which way he goes. Atiyah is likeable and probably the pace in the race so could be the danger under Ben Curtis. She did finish last at Musselburgh though and needs to bounce back. Havagomecca looked to need the run beaten just 2 lengths on return at Beverley and if she strips fitter from that she is another one that could be involved but likely only for a place. The rest all seem to have something or other to prove including Leodis Dream and Ventura Express.

Despite a big drift in the betting BOOKMARK (best price 15/8) ran a cracker on return at Pontefract on debut for this stable. She was beaten just a length and given how hard she pulled in the early stages that was a huge run. I think she’ll be spot on for this now and off the same mark she looks a strong bet. Callum Hutchinson takes over in the saddle and that would have to be a positive given Stefano Cherchi is still a claimer and is learning his trade. Hopefully they go a good clip and she can drop her head early before looking to pick them up in the closing stages. This longer trip will play to her strengths as long as she settles. Sea Of Charm is eased in grade and could be a big player as a result. Wow William should come on for that reappearance run and is another one expected to get competitive. Tele Red might still be a maiden but should be capable of better at some point.
