The penny looks to have dropped for ARYAAH now and I think she is well placed to win again here. She first caught my eye running on well for third at Windsor last month. She likely improved despite only finishing fourth at Wetherby where she was beaten just a length. She ran on well to open her account at Bath last time and with the second Girl Inthe Picture winning next time out the form has been franked since. She is up 4lb but you’d be foolish to rule out further improvement and I think she can make the most of another decent opportunity. Homeric did well to win at Lingfield on return but completely blew out at Wolverhampton last time and has a bit to prove now. Al Azhar made a winning return at Goodwood and up 3lb looks the main danger to the selection. I’m not convinced he beat a great deal that day though so that would have to be a slight question mark.

Having been sent off at odds of 200/1, 33/1 and 200/1 on 3 starts as a 2yo perhaps it was no surprise to see RUSHFORD take a big step forward on handicap debut at Brighton last month. The money came for him and he went off 7/2 and joint favourite. He was beaten a little over 2 lengths and while the winner has disappointed since that can be forgiven as it came at Chester. The fourth Campese won next time out at Bath so the form has some substance. He should improve again and if he does this looks a great chance for him to make the breakthrough. Alphonse Le Grande was behind the selection last time so has ground to make up. The danger is likely Big Bear Hug who has looked a work in progress and ran her best race to date when third at Nottingham last time. If she steps forward again she will fight it out with the selection.
