Havana Grey colt SHOULDVEBEENARING showed more than enough on debut to be of strong interest here. He only finished four of six but he was slowly into stride and over 5f at Goodwood that makes it a huge ask to get seriously competitive. He was asked to try and get involved but 3f out he still wasn’t in the race. He ran on strongly in the closing stages and you could visually see the penny dropping. He should be a lot more streetwise now and if getting away on terms looks to have a big chance to make the breakthrough. He steps up a furlong in trip to 6f so has plenty going for him as this won’t be as frantic early on. Amo Racing are flying right now and saddle debutant Ti Amo Sempre so she has to be feared if ready to go first time out. Gulmarg was a good second on debut at Pontefract and the winner Yahsat ran well in the Marygate so that form is rock solid so he has to be feared too.
