Steve Ryder is back with three tips for today's action, with runners at Nottingham and Wolverhampton.
14:10 Nottingham
The favourite King Of Jungle raced extremely awkwardly under pressure last time and looks worth taking on and I prefer the chances of ARISTOBULUS (best priced at 9/2) despite this being his return from 219 days off the track. The James Ferguson trained three-year-old won twice last season as a juvenile including once over this course and distance under a penalty by 3 ¾ length.
Aristobulus ended last season with a close 3rd at Goodwood in October on soft ground and if connections allow him to take his chance on this ground then he should run well with Daniel Muscutt retaining the ride.
14:20 Wolverhampton
The Archie Watson trained ARCHIANO (best priced at 6/4) was an impressive winner on his debut at Lingfield and he should hold strong claims in this race under a penalty. The son of Kodiac was sent off a well backed 5/6 favourite and defeat never looked likely as he started quickly and made all under a well timed ride from James Doyle.
Archiano won comfortably by 1 ¼ lengths at the finish to a more experienced rival and he will need to win this in order to take up his entry in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot in a months time.
14:40 Nottingham
YAGOOD (best priced at 5/2) has consistent form figures of 5151121253332 since joining Joe Parr last year and he looks to hold strong claims in this race following a good run at Doncaster last month. The six-year-old gelding won over this course and distance last season off a mark of 64 before finishing a close 2nd off a mark of 69 on his next start over 1m6f.
Yagood has run well on both of his starts this season at Chelmsford and Doncaster and the handicapper has only raised him 1lb for his next defeat last time off a mark of 70. Jamie Spencer rode Prince Of Bel Lir to victory for Joe Parr last week on only his second ride for the yard so he looks a good booking and I expect him to prove hard to beat.
