Steve Ryder is back with three tips for today's action, with runners at Ayr and Cork.
MAYSONG (best priced at 9/2) has been in consistently good form since joining Alice Haynes from Ed Dunlop and the gelding will hopefully gain a much-deserved victory in this race. The five-year-old is only 1-28 in his career but has placed on both of his starts this season at Pontefract and Chepstow.
Maysong finished only 1 ¼ lengths behind Darvel at Chepstow last time off a mark of 67 and despite the handicapper raising him 2lbs for that effort, he gets to run here off his previous mark which makes him 2lbs “well in” at the weights.
The Paddy Twomey trained RELEVANT RANGE (best priced at evens) improved from his debut effort to finish 2nd over this course and distance 12 days ago. The son of Starspangledbanner appreciated the drop back to 6f and the better ground last time to finish only 1 ¾ lengths behind the more experienced Furnace Creek.
Relevant Range achieved a much higher RPR than his main market rivals Chesterton and Hernes Hill and a repeat of his course and distance run last time should be good enough to win this.
The favourite Urban Oasis is respected in his bid for a hat-trick but he looks a short price for a horse that is 16lb higher than his last win and I would recommend backing BREAKINTHECLOUDS (best priced at 5/1) each way. The Denis Hogan trained gelding showed very little in his first three career starts but outran odds of 20/1 to finish 3rd on his handicap debut in first time cheekpieces.
That run came at Roscommon on soft/heavy ground over 1m4f where Breakintheclouds weakened late on so this drop back to 1m2f on faster ground should suit and I expect him to run well against the favourite.
