Andy Holding Selection for 19:05 Warwick
EVAS DIVA (NAP) (best price 9/4) was heavily involved in a decent contest for the grade here last time out and she would only need to replicate the same level of form to go one pace better on her return to the Midland track.
Held up towards the rear in what turned out to be a strongly-run C&D contest 23 days ago, Roy Brotherton’s mare was noted still going well coming out of the back straight, but it was at this point when the eventual winner kicked for home while she got caught up in the backwash. Staying on powerfully from two out, she managed to whittle the margin down to a length at the line, and with her conqueror and third home, going on to boost the form last weekend, the race looks a totally believable one.
Arriving here 0-24, there will be many who will question her credentials to actually go on and win a race, but if you see how strongly she galloped out after the line here last time and, add into the equation the speed figure of the race, it puts the performance into a better perspective. Unlikely to be as far behind here this evening on account of the smaller field, the daughter of Getaway rates a strong choice to break her maiden tag.
George Gamble Selection for Roma vs Feyenoord
What a season the former Chelsea centre forward has had in the Serie A. He’s scored 17 league goals and is averaging nearly a goal every two matches. Now he faces the task of getting on the scoresheet in a European Cup final and the market has him down at a generous price to do just that.
The English forward is enjoying life at Roma under ‘The Special One’ and he ended the domestic season by slotting twice against Torino - he also scored the decisive goal against Leicester City in the last round of this competition.
Feyenoord have conceded in seven of their last nine matches played away from De Kuip and it would seem likely that they concede once again in this one. Tammy Abraham has also taken his fair share of penalty’s throughout this campaign and so getting this price on a forward who’s in a hot vein of form and takes spot kicks is something that can’t be ignored.
