GYTO's Thursday notebook double pays 11/1.
Dandy Maestro has been thoroughly progressive so far this season with recent form figures of 1121 and he bolted up by 7 lengths at Bath last time. He is off a career high mark now though and this softer ground does pose a different question. I think he’ll find this tougher and the likeable ENOUGH ALREADY may be able to find a chink in his armour. The latter produced a career best over this C&D last year and has been gradually winding up for a big run this term. He was slowly into stride when well backed at Brighton last time and never really saw daylight caught behind rivals. I think he is a lot better than that and no surprise to see him produce that here. It’s not just a two-horse race though as r Trick also deserves a mention after winning at Haydock last time. He is 3lb higher here but if he builds on that he won’t be too far away either.
Tajalla obviously looked a nice prospect winning easily on debut at Newmarket last month. That form has been franked since with the second Fragrance winning since. He will improve but I’m keen to side with CRISPY CAT at a bigger price. This colt by Ardad also made a perfect start winning on debut in Ireland and I think improved in defeat going down a short head to Blackbeard at Listed level at the Curragh last time. The winner has since bolted up in a Group 3 and looks an exciting prospect himself. The selection can improve again and it wouldn’t surprise me to see him get Tajalla out of his comfort zone. Waiting All Night was heavily punted 20/1 into 12’s before winning on debut at Wolverhampton and has a bright future too but this is much tougher and he lacks experience. I’ll still be interested to see how he runs though with an eye to the future.
