Captain Kane has won 5 of his last 6 now so for AT LIBERTY (best price 9/4) to get within half a length of that rival at Ripon last time was a very good effort. The pair pulled some 7 and a half lengths clear from the rest so I think he is a fair bit ahead of his current mark. There is plenty of pace on here so he should get a lovely toe in and I think it’s a good opportunity for him to go one better now. Thunder Queen bumped into Yummylicious at Nottingham last time and that is good form so she is the obvious danger. Nordhalla failed to land the hat-trick at Hamilton last time and has to prove she can see out this trip so enough to answer for at present. Wootton’sun improved to win at Doncaster but didn’t really back that up at Newbury last time and while this is weaker he will still need to find more to hold out the selection.

Archie Watson has brought TWELFTH KNIGHT (best price 9/4) along gradually and he was rewarded for that when the 3yo got his head in front over C&D last time. He bounced out alertly and made all the running under Hollie Doyle crossing the line unchallenged in the end. He goes handicapping now and an opening mark of 79 should be workable. With confidence high I can really see him kicking on now. Lil Guff also brings winning form to the table having got her head back in front at Haydock last time. A further 6lb rise demands more now though as she is off a career-high mark. She still looks the danger in current heart though. Of the rest Silver Bullet Lady could improve but she will certainly need to if she is to lay a glove on the market principals. Way To Win needs first-time cheekpieces to work wonders.
