Steve Ryder is back with three tips for today's action.
13:40 Cartmel
This looks a match race between Prime Time Lady and SAYWHATYOUWANT (best priced at 11/10) with preference going to the latter who has joined Donald McCain following some respectable performances in Ireland. The four-year-old outran odds of 50/1 to finish 2nd by a nose in an apprentice handicap on the flat before finishing 3rd in a Fairyhouse maiden hurdle in December behind Britzka.
Saywhatyouwant finished well beaten on her next two starts in maiden hurdles behind smart horses in Pied Piper and Champion Green and she should appreciate this drop in class. She is rated 4lbs higher than main market rival Prime Time Lady but receives nearly a stone because of her four-year-old allowance and that should make her hard to beat.
15:45 Cartmel
Laura Morgan highlighted this race as the next target for her profilic winner CLEAR THE RUNWAY (best priced at 7/4) following his easy success at Market Rasen 11 days ago and he should be able to continue with progression up the handicap. The six-year-old has successfully mixed between hurdles and fences this season and now returns back chasing for the first time since a 15 length success at Southwell in April.
The handicapper has raised Clear The Runway 7lbs for that victory up to a mark of 129 but I feel he should still prove hard to beat off that mark with Adam Wedge continuing the partnership.
16:20 Cartmel
I am hoping Laura Morgan has a good day at Cartmel and FIRE AWAY (best priced at 11/4) can win this race for a second year in a row. The nine-year-old won this race easily by 5 ½ lengths last season off a mark of 129 and he now races off the same mark this year. He struggled over fences on his next three starts but has won twice since over hurdles and it is interesting that connections have targeted this race again.
Eritage is interesting on his first start since leaving Paul Nicholls but he looks short enough for his stable debut and preference instead goes to Fire Away who could prove well handicapped once again.
