Following a 5/2 winner yesterday, Steve Ryder is back with three tips for today's action.
14:10 Fontwell
The favourite On Springs is actually 1lb wrong at the weights under a 7lb penalty and preference instead goes to DELL ORO (best priced at 7/4) on his stable debut for Milton Harris. The nine-year-old was previously trained by Gary Moore for whom he won a handicap chase off a mark of 135 before moving to Daniel Steele where he dropped down from a mark of 125 all the way down to a mark of 91 in only eight runs.
Dell Oro has now joined Milton Harris off this lowly mark who sends him back over fences having run the last three times over hurdles. He looks worth taking a chance on with Harry Reed taking the ride.
15:30 Haydock
The William Haggas trained QUEEN AMINATU (best priced at 13/8) made a successful handicap debut last time at Lingfield and she should prove hard to beat if transferring that form to turf. The daughter of Muhaarar has run consistently well on her four career starts to date with form figures of 2211 including a victory by 2 ½ lengths on her handicap debut 63 days ago.
That victory came off an opening handicap mark of 75 and the handicapper has raised her 7lbs for that effort. That should still underestimate her and I expect her to follow up on her first start on turf.
20:20 Hamilton
The Ewan Whillans trained JORDAN ELECTRICS (best priced at 5/1) has a good record at Hamilton and he should run well off the same mark as his victory here on Thursday. The six-year-old has two wins and eight placed efforts from fourteen runs at the track including a victory over this course and distance last time off a mark of 63.
The handicapper has raised Jordan Electrics 4lbs for that neck victory but he gets to run here off an unchanged mark meaning that he is 4lbs “well in” at the weights. Tipperary Tiger may prove the biggest danger in first time cheekpieces but I just prefer Jordan Electrics because of his proven course form.
