I loved the way BELHAVEN moved through the race en route to winning impressively at Redcar last month. That was her handicap debut and she proved well ahead of her mark so I don’t think a 7lb hike is enough to stop her following up here. This track should suit and I’m pleasantly surprised she isn’t shorter than the 10/3 on offer at the time of writing. Frankel filly Vazire showed good tactical pace to win at Chester last time. She will improve again but her opening mark is certainly no given so that is slightly concerning. Fiorina shaped well when denied a nose at Kempton but failed to back that up when sent off a short priced favourite at Carlisle and has a bit to prove now. Cet Horizon might be the one to chase the selection home with this step back in trip likely to see her in a much better light here.

Mehmas filly ROSA MYSTICA impressed winning over this trip at Lingfield last month. She caught the eye on reappearance where she was beaten less than a length and improved to win convincingly last time. She looked really well in the paddock that day so I’ll be looking to see her coat gleaming again in the prelims. She carries a 6lb penalty but apprentice Dean Le Roux takes off 7lb and given she has won at this track before she looks to have plenty going for her again. Woodlands Charm prevailed by a head at Ripon last time and that form has been franked since with the third Lotus Rose winning next time out. She looks the obvious danger nudged up just a couple of pounds. Glasstrees didn’t run badly again when third at Chelmsford last time but I think she is a bit too consistent for her own good.
