War Front colt LAASUDOOD (best price 13/8) won his final start for Sir Michael Stoute and ran a big race first-up for Richard Hannon when beaten narrowly into second at Nottingham. He still looked a little rough around the edges that day and should strip a lot fitter now. He goes handicapping off a mark of 87 and may well prove that to be lenient. Roxzoff has won 4 from 7 this season and looked progressive sweeping through to score at Sandown last month. A further 6lb does demand plenty more though especially up against the untapped potential of the selection. Sip And Smile was behind the latter at Sandown but I think he is better than that run and it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see him reverse that form and chase home the favourite. Both Bullet Force and Al Baahy look to be up against it.

It seems like anything William Haggas saddles at the moment is being sent off favourite and while Nahaarr has to be feared now gelded I wouldn’t want to take a short price. I much prefer BENEFIT (best price 10/3) for Clive Cox in the Cheveley Park colours. This Acclamation filly failed to shine at Newbury but likely needed the run on return and she showed what she was potentially capable of running on well for third at Haydock in a race that is already working out well. She was given a lot to do that day but ran on strongly and was nearer finish. She can keep improving and may well upset the favourite here. Edraak has plenty of ability and was a good second denied a short head at Newcastle when last seen. Freshened up since he could run well but is off a career-high mark. Method is back from a lengthy absence so this is a stiff enough ask.
