The Jessie Harrington trained PRINCESS RAJJ (best priced at 15/2) ran ten times as a two-year-old without success but has looked progressive so far this season. The filly returned with a fourth placed finish at the Curragh before finishing a neck second over this course and distance off a mark of 61.

Princess Rajj has benefitted from the application of a tongue tie on her previous two starts where she has won by six lengths at Sligo and ½ length at Listowel earlier this month. The handicapper has raised her 5lbs for her victory last time which is fair and I expect her to run well with four places widely available on the race.

The Michael Dods trained JAWWAAL (best priced at 5/4) has form figures of 321011 at Doncaster with the three victories all coming over this minimum trip of 5f. The seven-year-old won this race last season off a mark of 92 before following up over the same course and distance off a mark of 94. He has struggled off higher marks since but now races off a mark of 94 having been generously dropped 3lbs for his latest run.

Jawwaal hasn’t had a clear run on either of his runs so far this season including when only beaten 3 ¾ lengths at York last time and I expect the gelding to prove hard to beat dropped down in class from a Class 2 0-105 handicap into a Class 3 0-95 handicap.

Jawwaal - 1pt @ 5/4
