Tuesday Racing Tips from Steve Ryder

There is no doubt that Baaeed will prove hard to beat in the Queen Anne Stakes but I feel REAL WORLD (best priced at 6/4 in the without market) is the bet in the race. The Saeed Bin Suroor trained five-year-old won the Royal Hunt Cup at the meeting last season before winning another four races in a row including the Group 2 Prix Daniel Wildenstein at Longchamp and the Group 2 Zabeel Mile at Meydan.

Real World finished 2nd behind Baaeed in the Lockinge Stakes at Newbury where he had the likes of Chindit and Sir Busker behind and I expect him to follow home the short priced favourite in this race.  

I rate the Chester Cup form highly so I feel ARCADIAN SUNRISE (best priced at 9/2) is worth backing in the Ascot Stakes off the same. The John Queally trained eight-year-old was in good form in 2021 over both hurdles and on the flat with his highlight being a victory in the Sky Bet Handicap at York over 2 miles off a mark of 90.

Arcadian Sunrise finished 2 ¾ lengths behind Cleveland in the Chester Cup when fourth last time off a mark of 97 and he should run well yet again with no stamina doubts and up to seven places available.  

The Aidan O’Brien trained CLEVELAND (best priced at 2/1) was an incredibly impressive winner of the Chester Cup and I feel he is sure to be a group winner later this season. The four-year-old finished 4th in a listed race over 1m2f on his return but benefitted from the step up in trip to win the Chester Cup in impressive style. The son of Camelot settled and travelled well that day against the rail before staying on well to win by a neck at the finish.

It was a cosy success and the winning distance of a neck didn’t do the performance justice but it has meant that the handicapper has only been able to raise him 5lbs for that success. His biggest danger appears to be course winner Juan De Montalban but the handicapper has raised him 9lbs for his latest success and that should swing things in the favour of Cleveland.
