The big favourite (Evens) for the Prince Of Wales's Stakes, BAY BRIDGE, doubles up as the most backed horse for the second day of Royal Ascot 2022 since final declarations for the day's racing were made on Monday morning.

At the time of writing, the four-year-old trained by Sir Michael Stoute accounts for 7.83% of all the bets across the seven-race card and a huge 71.69% of all those on Wednesday’s feature race.

However, Racing Weekly host Rishi Persad doesn’t expect it to be plain sailing for Bay Bridge. He told listeners on this week’s podcast: “I just feel that the prices might be slightly wrong. If the prices were the other way I might have a go on Bay Bridge but at the moment Bay Bridge is too short and Shahryar (7/2 second favourite) is too big for what they've achieved.”

Dramatised

Second on our most-backed list for Day 2 at Royal Ascot 2022 is DRAMATISED, a winner in her only outing so far at Newmarket in April.

Sam Turner namechecked her in his Racing Weekly run through of the favourites for the Queen Mary Stakes, saying: “Dramatised is the fastest filly I've got this year, two-year-old wise, so I'd probably have to stick with her. I was really taken with her performance at Newmarket. The second has won two subsequently by four lengths apiece so I would give her a big chance.”

At the time of writing, Dramatised (best price 11/4) has accounted for 6.77% of the bets across all races on Wednesday since final declarations were made on Monday, and a dominant 34.86% of the bets on the Queen Mary Stakes.

Symbolize

SYMBOLIZE is a somewhat surprising addition to the most backed treble on Day 2 of Royal Ascot 2022, perhaps ‘symbolising’ a day of opportunity for the bookmakers and the chance for some longer odds winners after the likes of Baaeed and Coroebus delivered as short favourites on Day 1.

The five-year-old, trained by Andrew Balding, is still a best price 17/2 (in from 12/1 last night) through oddschecker despite the backing (in from 14/1 in places). He finds himself in 3.03% of the betslips for the day as a whole and 11.55% of those specifically on the Royal Hunt Cup.
