The Sir Michael Stoute-trained four-year-old, Bay Bridge, has been well backed into favouritism for the Prince of Wales’s Stakes. Ryan Moore is booked to ride and will break from stall two in his bid to win the 1m1f contest. Bay Bridge has taken 72% of total bets in the market through oddschecker at time of writing and will face four rivals on the second day at Royal Ascot.

Rory McIlroy roared to an impressive victory in the Canadian Open last week and did it in some style holding off Justin Thomas and Tony Finau in the final round.

Rory last won the US Open in 2011 at the tender age of 22 and his game has gone through a lot since 2011 but there are signs that the Northern Irishman is returning to his best form having already picked up two wins on the PGA tour this year.

McIlroy is third for driving distance in the PGA with an average driving distance of 319.1 and is first in scoring average with 68.8 but the real change has been his percentage in hitting the greens in regulation which he has seen the Northern Irishman move up from 99th last year to 57th this year.

McIlroy is currently a best price of 22/1 and can be backed at best place terms of eight vs five.
