Now JACKMEISTER RUDI has his head in front I can really see this son of Churchill kicking on. He justified strong support to win with a bit in hand at Brighton earlier this month and a 3lb rise is unlikely to stop him following up. David Probert takes over in the saddle too which has to be seen as a positive. He is around 2/1 in the betting at the time of writing but I can see him being well backed again in the run up to the race so it might be worth taking the early odds. Hope Probe improved to win over 5f here last time and looks the danger but a 6lb rise definitely asks a few more questions. Bondi Girl has only been beaten a length on both runs for this yard and with first-time cheekpieces she might progress again so shouldn’t be entirely overlooked either. Iconic Knight is a C&D winner and his form ties in with Hope Probe so he also has to be considered.

This doesn’t look to have a great deal of strength in depth so I think it represents a great opportunity for CRUSH AND RUN to get himself back in the winners enclosure. If you look at his recent form it has a progressive look to it. He was beaten just a head by Sandbeck at Nottingham back in April and that filly looked promising winning at Haydock at the weekend. He then acquitted himself well in a strong race at York last month won by Korker. That horse was good enough to contest a race at Royal Ascot last week and with a better break may have even gone close so that is red-hot form. He got behind at Bath last time but did well given the circumstances. If he gets away on terms he should be better than these. Miss Belladonna is 2lb wrong at the weights but still looks the main danger. Dusky Prince best of the rest but he is on a lengthy losing run.
