Following an 18/1 winner yesterday, Steve Ryder is back with three tips for today's action.
13:30 Worcester
The favourite Port O’Clock is respected on his stable debut for David Pipe but DALKINGSTOWN (best priced at 3/1) has been running well recently and looks the more likely winner. The Peter Bowen trained eight-year-old has finished 2nd on his latest two starts at Uttoxeter and Ffos Las and he looks sure to run his race again today.
Dalkingstown is a previous course winner at Worcester earlier in his career and should now appreciate having cheekpieces re-fitted. He was only beaten ½ length with cheekpieces on at Uttoxeter before finishing 4 ½ lengths behind Cry Wolf last time when they were replaced by a tongue tie. Both the tongue tie and cheekpieces are on for this race and I expect him to prove hard to beat.
14:35 Worcester
This looks a competitive 0-100 handicap hurdle but I am willing to take a chance on DO YA FEEL LUCKY (best priced at 10/1) on her first start since a wind operation. The David Pipe trained eight-year-old was a winner at this course in August off a mark of 97 and she now looks well handicapped off a 5lb lower mark following some disappointing recent runs.
Do Ya Feel Lucky has finished beaten 33 lengths and 11 lengths on her previous two starts but she now returns from 90 days off the track after a wind operation and looks worth taking a chance on off a mark of 92.
14:45 Hexham
The Rebecca Menzies trained MELBURNIAN (best priced at 5/2) made an encouraging stable debut last time at this course when 2nd and she should run well off only a 2lb higher mark. The seven-year-old was returning from a 251 day break last time which was her first start over hurdles since December 2020 where she looked outpaced over the 2 mile trip.
Melburnian now goes up in trip to 2m4f which looks sure to suit and she is expected to come on for that recent run. The handicapper raised her 2lbs for that effort last time which is fair and I expect her to prove hard to beat.
