Karl Burke won both divisions of this race last year and comes here triple-handed on this occasion, with his unraced Dee See Are appearing the pick of his trio. Speriamo appreciated the extra furlong at Kempton last month when she won by the narrowest of margins over this trip and looks to have solid credentials.

Keith Dalgliesh is currently leading trainer for the Sunday Series and his EL PICADOR is attempting to back up his win at Musselburgh a fortnight ago. He's been given a 5lb hike for that win and although he drops in trip here, the manner of his victory suggested he could be up to the job. Charlie & Mark Johnston are double-handed with Mackenzie Rose and Love Is Golden and while both appear to have sound claims, marginal preference is for the former who was a comfortable winner at Doncaster last time.

There was only a neck to separate BARTZELLA and Lady Hayes at Goodwood in April and although the latter is 3lb better off on this occasion, the vote goes to the William Haggas-trained improving four-year-old. The son of Golden Horn has only been beaten once so far and looks to be a nice, progressive type. By Starlight ran a creditable race on her seasonal reappearance when fourth at Haydock behind Sea La Rosa and is entitled to strip fitter for the outing. Andrew Balding applies a hood for the first time on Invite and if having the desired effect, she would enter calculations.

You wouldn't put it past Paul Nicholls getting OLEG back from a lengthy absence to win this staying handicap. Not seen since a third-placed effort over fences at Wincanton in November 2020, this is a big ask but he won off this mark at the track (extended 2m1f) in the June of that year and will be fine on quick ground. Overhaugh Street is another who knows his way around here and he joins Captain Haddock on the shortlist.

It is easy to see why Fishable would prove popular on the back of a creditable second at Ripon, but Tim Easterby's charge does seem to save his best performances for the Garden Racecourse and could be vulnerable here giving lumps of weight to UNPLUGGED. A change of scenery seems to have worked the oracle for this six-year-old as his 1m2f breakthrough success here recently left a lasting impression. Enfranchise is another to note.

BULLET FORCE ran on well to finish third at Chester last Saturday and the application of first-time blinkers may see Karl Burke's colt take a step forward, especially as he meets Exminster, who beat him at York, on 7lb better terms. Million Thanks kept on well when fourth at Haydock on his handicap bow and has to be of considerable interest. Aguaplano (second) and Tarbaan (third) were closely matched at Doncaster earlier in the month and the pair both warrant a fair amount of respect.

EILEAN DUBH made it two on the bounce when scoring in a competitive event over a mile at York's Sunday Series meeting last month. The drop back in trip appears to be a drastic move, but he pulled hard on that occasion and a stiff finish here will aid his cause. Corinthia Knight bounced back to winning ways over C&D last time and he commands plenty of respect along with Il Bandito, who arrives in search of a hat-trick of victories, and Aberama Gold.
