WASHINGTON HEIGHTS shaped with plenty of promise on debut when fourth behind Just Janet and is entitled to have learned plenty from that experience. The Kevin Ryan-trained gelding didn't have the clearest of passages on that occasion and given a clear run he's taken to get off the mark at the second attempt. Cuban Rock was claimed by Jim Goldie at Musselburgh earlier this month having been narrowly denied by Explicit who has won again since. Armour Propre travelled strongly on his debut outing at Salisbury and this shorter trip should suit.Prediction : 1st Washington Heights 2nd Cuban Rock 3rd Armour Propre

NOVAPORTIAN ran a race full of promise when third on debut behind a well-supported Charlie Appleby inmate at Haydock a fortnight ago and any natural progression from that outing could make him hard to beat. X J Rascal has a 6lb penalty to concede to all his rivals after winning a shade cosily at Brighton at the first time of asking despite showing clear signs of greenness, but the biggest threat may come from the David and Nicola Barron-trained Hoy, who was just touched off by a more experienced rival at Thirsk on debut and looks likely to improve with that run under his belt.Prediction : 1st Novaportian 2nd Hoy 3rd X J Rascal
14:25 Carlisle
TANGLED is fancied to make it back-to-back wins now running off a 5lb lower mark this year. He showed his well-being when just touched off at Beverley last week and looks primed for another big run at this track, where he's won twice already. War Of Words looks the biggest danger and is arguably unlucky not to remain unbeaten having been headed on the line at Thirsk in April. An opening mark of 80 may underestimate his ability, while Jackhammer returns to the Flat having won his last two starts over timber and was seventh in this race last year.Prediction : 1st Tangled 2nd War Of Words 3rd Jackhammer
14:55 Carlisle
Cassy O and MAKEEN look very closely matched on their soft-ground C&D clash last month (second and third respectively) and both have improved to win on a faster surface since. The latter looks to have bagged a better draw here and was impressive over 7f at this track most recently, so he shades the verdict. Tim Easterby's charge carries a 5lb penalty for his Redcar success and looks likely to give another good account, regardless of the draw, while Invincibly, Pisanello and Tilsitt are others to watch out for. Prediction : 1st Makeen 2nd Cassy O 3rd Invincibly
15:25 Carlisle
A fiercely competitive renewal of the race, in which EL PICADOR edges the vote. He arguably produced his best Flat performance to date when scoring readily over an extended 1m4f at Musselburgh last time and a 5lb rise might not be enough to anchor him if arriving in the same mood. Emaraty Hero lines up off the same mark as when runner-up that day and he's unlikely to be far away, while the third, Grand Canal, also reopposes and he has struck at Ayr since. Commonsensical and My Little Queens are just a couple of others with claims. Prediction : 1st El Picador 2nd Emaraty Hero 3rd Commonsensical
15:55 Carlisle
SNOOZE N YOU LOSE has enjoyed a fruitful start to her three-year-old campaign, finishing a good second at York in May before tasting Listed success at Musselburgh earlier this month. The daughter of Ribchester could have more to offer and, for her in-form stable, she is taken to land the spoils. Oscula heads the field on official ratings and she's feared most for the George Boughey team, while the class-dropping Miss Carol Ann might not be far away either.Prediction : 1st Snooze N You Lose 2nd Oscula 3rd Miss Carol Ann
16:30 Carlisle
Despite losing a shoe, KODIAS SANGARIUS ran a blinder to finish within a head of an in-form rival at Windsor earlier this month. Richard Hannon's filly competes off an unchanged mark here and with the step up from 6f likely to suit, she can strike. Bungley has been knocking on the door of late and she's likely to make her presence felt once more along with Qipao, who drops in class having contested a 0-90 at Doncaster last month. Prediction : 1st Kodias Sangarius 2nd Bungley 3rd Qipao
