Archie Watson's filly ran well under today's rider when third at Salisbury over this trip last time and he could be handicapped to strike. Crack apprentice Benoit De La Sayette rides Tiare, who ran well for third off 3lb higher here back in March, while the pick of a number of handicap debutants could be the upped-in-trip Global Tycoon.

Luckyboylovelywife won with plenty in hand in a Beverley maiden last time and is well worth a second glance, while Alcazan struck over a furlong shorter here latest and may be well treated off a mark of 70. The latter was keen over that shorter trip, which may be her undoing here, so QUEEN OF NAVARRE gets the vote. James Fanshawe's filly was well beaten in a pair of turf maidens earlier this season but ran a much better race on the all-weather at Lingfield last time, finishing on the heels of a 78-rated rival. Given a mark of 72 for her handicap bow, she could prove better than that rating.

George Boughey can do little wrong this season so any support for his newcomer Hadley Park is interesting, with William Buick an eye-catching jockey booking, while Betweenthesticks certainly won't lack for experience and has filled the runner-up spot twice previously. King Of Ithaca is another newcomer to note, but preference is for BELLAZZO, who was outpaced in the early stages on debut at Windsor but finished strongly to get within two lengths of the winner. Up a furlong here with that experience under his belt, he could be tough to stop.

EXPLICIT has been well placed by winning in selling company at Musselburgh and York earlier in the month and the son of Expert Eye, who escapes any penalties, could prove a tough nut to crack based on his experience. New Definition has filled the runner-up spot on both his starts to date and he is likely to enter calculations, while Cantora appeals most of the newcomers.

WESTERN WRITER made a winning return to action at Chelmsford and an opening handicap mark of 79 may underestimate him. The step back up to a mile is unlikely to be a concern, having finished his race off strongly on that occasion, and a gelding operation has also appeared to bring about improvement. Persian Royal is capable of better following his handicap debut when pulling hard at Nottingham, while others to consider include Royal Aviation and Moonlight Frolic.

NAJEEBA is a filly on a roll at present and there is no reason to suggest why she can't land the four-timer, having been raised 7lb for an emphatic success at Wolverhampton in April. Scampi remains difficult to win with despite his consistency, while Jasmine Joy is another who has plenty of ability but needs to put it all together as she did at Yarmouth last September.

VIN ROUGE won as he pleased at Lingfield last week and a 5lb penalty for that success may not be enough to prevent the son of Zoffany from following up. His chief threat looks to be Riggsby, who has disappointed somewhat since winning twice over close to this distance at the turn of the year. Soldier On Parade is likely to improve for his most recent effort at Lingfield as well.
