I liked the way SHALADAR knuckled down to prevail over C&D last time and that visual impression was backed up by the clock which is always reassuring. If you look at his form he has improved with every start and the horse he pulled clear with last time Fergie Time also looks to be on the upgrade. He is up 4lb but likely has more in the locker yet and this looks a good opportunity for him to follow up and at a reasonable enough price too. May Punch didn’t shape badly again when third to Cosa Sara over track and trip last time but the winner has let that form down since. Her strike rate is also concerning so I think she’ll need more to trouble the selection. A greater threat could come from Timbukone who has work to do to reverse recent form with the latter and Head Chef but is at least lightly raced and could step forward again at some point.

The first-time visor seemed to do the trick with FELLOWSHIP as he stayed on well to just get up on handicap debut at Yarmouth earlier this month. The second Seal Of Solomon won his next start before finishing down the field at Lingfield at the weekend. The selection goes up to a mile and a half now and on what we’ve seen that should really help so I can see him going in again while confidence is high. Itsallaboutluck is second favourite here and is still a maiden after 20 starts so I think that tells you a lot about the lack of quality on show here. He ran well on debut for this yard at Nottingham but still needs more to seriously trouble the selection. Echo Brave is on a long losing run and will likely need this back from a lengthy absence. Typewritten could be the one to put up the most resistance as she is unexposed but she does need to improve a fair bit.
