Low draws are often key to sprints on the Westwood and with that in mind, preference is for SANTABELLA. The daughter of Kodiac has filled the runner-up spot on each of her two racecourse appearances to date and a similar performance may be enough to land the spoils. California Gem is respected under a 6lb penalty, while Transfer Affection could go well from stall one. William Haggas boasts a 32 percent strike rate here over the last five years (6-19) and he saddles Cheveley Park's Day Member, though she'll need to produce a big performance drawn widest of all. Others to consider are Heathcliff's Girl and Mrs Trump.
Prediction : 1st Santabella 2nd California Gem 3rd Transfer Affection

After narrowly winning an apprentice handicap over C&D last month, SHERDIL is 4lb well-in here. This is tougher, but he's berthed to attack in stall one and in receipt of weight all round, Paul Midgley's sprinter could follow up. Cotai West has a consistent profile and she's entitled to be in the shake-up on her handicap bow, along with Princess Karine. Mereside Angel was eased 1lb following a below-par effort at York on his seasonal reappearance, but a drop in grade may enable him to be more competitive.
Prediction : 1st Sherdil 2nd Cotai West 3rd Mereside Angel

Hayadh holds every chance at the weights, but he was an underwhelming beaten favourite at Redcar last month and it may pay to take him on with TRUE BLUE MOON. Tim Easterby's seven-year-old was a good second in claiming company on his latest outing and he could prove tough to beat if replicating that performance. Previous C&D winner Clodovea must enter calculations, while the unexposed Fortuna Dufflecoat might not be far away either.
Prediction : 1st True Blue Moon 2nd Hayadh 3rd Clodovea

A drop in both class and trip could suit Red Astaire following a disappointing run on his handicap debut at Carlisle over 1m3f. He has dropped 3lb for that run, but preference is for STRIPZEE, having recently run on for second over a furlong shorter. She is rated 3lb higher for that run, but Sean Kirrane's 3lb claim negates that rise for Tim Easterby's charge and she must be respected. Tudor Queen is another to note having shown promise in second at Redcar last month.
Prediction : 1st Stripzee 2nd Red Astaire 3rd Tudor Queen

Let Her Loose has dropped to 2lb above her last winning mark, but she is exposed and could struggle off top weight. It could be worth siding with SCOTTISH DANCER, who makes his handicap debut after finishing a long way behind Eldar Eldarov on the all-weather in May. The form of that contest reads well, though, given the winner went on to win a Group 2 at Ascot, as well as the second and third contesting big-field handicaps at the same meeting. A 5lb penalty may not be enough to stop Calculus getting involved as he bids to follow up that C&D success.
Prediction : 1st Scottish Dancer 2nd Calculus 3rd Let Her Loose

DESERT DREAM was just denied on his return to action at Catterick, by a rival who backed that performance up with another victory, and the eight-year-old has been found a suitable opportunity to go one better. Paddy Elliott went up 4lb for a recent C&D success and is likely to enter the reckoning along with Mr Trevor, who was runner-up over this distance at Catterick on his penultimate start.
Prediction : 1st Desert Dream 2nd Paddy Elliott 3rd Mr Trevor
