UK Horse Racing Tips: Tramore

Tramore plays host to the fourth summer meeting of OPEN THE GATE and Elle Dorado Rock, with improvement expected from both, in this weak maiden. OPEN THE GATE is out of a Moyglare-bred winner and while below par, having been eased, on his third hurdle outing at Listowel, had previously shown ability twice in May. Elle Dorado Rock has less inspiring form-figures and was tailed off on the flat recently but is a nicely-related homebred and looks a work in progress. College Causeway has twice finished behind more prominently-ridden Flyaway Maggie but stayed on from off the pace at Roscommon, suggesting he can turn form. Chinook, by Sea The Stars, was beaten 49 lengths at Punchestown but had previously caught the eye at Kilbeggan, beating 96-rated All About Beth while Gordon Elliott's Up And Out was well beaten in two recent bumpers.

WEDDELL SEA had little trouble winning an ordinary Roscommon maiden and suited by conditions. He steps up in grade but is a progressive four year old who competes from a workable, unofficial rating of 116, under a 5lb claimer. Dartington returning to form winning at Wexford and while he has obvious claims, is without his previous rider's 7lb claim and now competes from 122. Tom McGreevy has useful course and distance form and while 2lb wrong at the weights, his rider again claims 5lb and is consistent.

Locally-trained mare WHERE'S BUNNY comes here in good heart after a win over fences at Wexford and can record a second win over hurdles. She was fifth here over further on her most recent outing in this sphere, and her chase win came over 2m4f, but she did win over this trip at Kilbeggan last summer. Natural Look, handicapped on the basis of three outings in Britain last year, also represents a local stable and was an encouraging fourth at Clonmel last month. Musical Melody made a good start in handicaps when fifth at Roscommon and has a chance if building on that while Shean Glory would be a big player if bouncing back to the form of her Limerick win in May.

MEETINGOFTHEWATERS is a useful staying prospect and can win on his second start over hurdles. The Court Cave gelding won a bumper at Downpatrick in May and kept on well when third over a slightly longer trip on hurdling debut at Ballinrobe. He might be seen to best effect on a more galloping track but, nonetheless, looks the one to beat. Dragon Rock makes his Rules debut after two placed efforts in point-to-points and has to be respected for the champion trainer. Le Nouveau, a half-brother to The New One, was beaten less than a length in a good bumper at last year's Galway festival and makes his hurdling debut here for Liz Doyle having left Willie Mullins' yard. Wild Caprice ran well on stable debut when second in a Down Royal handicap and gets plenty of weight from the selection.

REVERSE POLARITY likes it at Tramore and may be able to give weight and a beating to her rivals. Mark Fahey's charge was touched off in a bumper here and went one better in a maiden hurdle at last year's August festival. She was a good third on her comeback at Downpatrick in May and now steps up in trip. Tullyveery Lad, who reverts from chasing, is a quirky sort and blinkers may be a help to him. He won at Gowran in the autumn and was in contention next time at this track when running out at the second-last. A maiden winner at Navan last summer, Sight Nor Seen went close at Downpatrick in March and was a fair fourth over fences at this track last time. The Holmeister ran well on his first start of the year at Listowel and has no weight on his back.

A really competitive contest for the grade with eight of these having previous course success. Henry de Bromhead runs three and WITHALLDUERESPECT may prove the answer with Charlie O'Dwyer taking a useful 7lb off her back. The Mahler mare won a handicap hurdle by a wide margin here last August and scored on her first outing in handicap company over fences at Clonmel last month. That was her first start of the campaign and she pulled away to do it in good style. She is fancied to defy a 9lb rise for that victory. Rachael Blackmore sticks with Tisadream, who has won twice around here, and she may improve from her comeback run last month. She was fifth to Mater Matuta then and is now 8lb better off with the winner. Inagh's Gift chased home Mater Matuta here last time and is another that has to come into calculations.

EASY GAME can keep his winning run going here. Willie Mullins' charge is three from three this year with victories in Grade 2 and Grade 3 company before his latest cosy win in a Listowel conditions chase last month. This is another similar type of contest and the French-bred looks the one to beat off his mark of 160. Notebook is the obvious danger, with a rating 6lb inferior. Henry de Bromhead's charge unseated when last seen over the national fences in the Topham at Aintree but had been running consistently in hot graded races previously. This two-mile-six trip may just stretch his stamina. Hardline looks the safest bet to complete the trifecta.
