UK Horse Racing Tips: Limerick

A nursery winner at Sligo last year, HOT SUNSET ran her best race since then when second over this trip at Gowran Park last month. She didn't back that up at Bellewstown on her most recent outing but returning to a right-handed track will suit her. Clarinbridge was ahead of the selection when runner-up to The Pargey Bee at Bellewstown and that was a career best for her. She was prominent form the outset over 1m and coming back in trip should be fine. Three Macks has run solid races in her last two handicaps and would have to be on the shortlist if she turns out again after running at Fairyhouse on Wednesday, while Flame Of Eire may be able to build on her handicap debut sixth at Tipperary.

BAND WIDTH had more left in the tank when winning for the second time this season at Sligo last month. Gelded after disappointing on his previous start at Naas, Andy Oliver's charge has been left on the same mark for that conditions race success and should have no problem staying an extra furlong here. Chambery Prince ran well to be fourth over 1m here on what was his seasonal and handicap debut and there should be improvement to come. Dairerin caught the eye when staying on over 6f at Naas and that was by far his best effort since relocating to Ireland from Michael Bell's yard. Course winner Half Nutz again ran well at this venue when second here last month and will have his supporters along with Earls, who was too free when second at Leopardstown.

SIR ANTONINO is risky but is given another chance to build on the potential shown when runner-up in two good maidens last year. He was second to the Irish 2,000 Guineas runner-up at the Curragh and chased home the Dee Stakes winner at Leopardstown. He was a little disappointing on his seasonal return and then bombed out altogether in a premier handicap at Navan last time. It's still hard to get away from his early form in this weak maiden and maybe blinkers will do the trick. Joseph O'Brien also runs the well-bred Olympus who didn't show much on debut at Cork in April. The Vik ran well before tiring in the final furlong over course and distance last month and can build on that. Cara Susanna's stable continues to struggle for form but the Tamayuz half-sister to three Group winners is, nevertheless, the most interesting of the newcomers.

HELPMEOUT was a decisive winner over this trip at Leopardstown and can go in again despite an 8lb hike. The Mastercraftsman filly had previously finished a creditable sixth in a Killarney handicap that worked out very well and she can continue to progress after making the breakthrough last time. New York Angel was a winner over this trip at Gowran and ran well when third over 7f at the Curragh. The second at the Curragh has gone in since and Johnny Murtagh's consistent type is likely to race prominently again from the inside stall. Glandore Harbour has shown promise in a couple of maidens and is 6lb better off with Sheer Chance after finishing a place in front of that rival when fifth at Killarney. She was only half a length behind a filly who is now rated 74 and could be on a decent mark for her handicap debut.

MAZAGRAN, fitted with a tongue-tie for the first time, can repeat last year's victory in this race where the six runners meet on the same terms as would apply in a handicap. The War Front colt, twice a winner in Dubai before joining Joseph O'Brien's yard, didn't go on in three subsequent starts last term but again showed his liking for this venue when going down by just a head in a handicap over this trip on his seasonal debut. Dedillon was three parts of a length behind the selection last time and is 2lb better off. She's a four-time winner over this trip, including at this track, and is very likely to run her race again. Three-time winner Monzoon was second over C&D in April and has a chance on the pick of his form, while Cosmic Vega bounced back to form in testing conditions at Roscommon but seems to be ground dependent.

FIRST EMPEROR was narrowly foiled by old rival Como Park at Leopardstown and can go one better. The Galileo colt has narrowed the gap between himself and that rival in three clashes this term and was edged out by a head last time. He stays well and might be able to turn around earlier Leopardstown form with Gulliver's Travels. The latter was four lengths ahead of the selection, who had the benefit of a previous outing, over this trip in May and many will fancy him to confirm his superiority. Nusret was worried out of it when narrowly beaten in 1m2f maidens at Cork and Sligo before running very creditably in a premier handicap at Navan. He steps up to this trip for the first time. Magellan Straits is from a family of useful stayers and could improve appreciably from his debut sixth at Tipperary.

A winner over 7f and 1m, KODIAC PRINCE is not bred for this trip but is worth a shot at it after doing some good late work in recent outings. He was fourth in 1m2f contests at Sligo and Ballinrobe and has come down 7lb in the ratings since the start of the season. Prophets Voice was second over a furlong shorter here in April but needs to bounce back from a moderate run at Sligo the following month. Impero stayed on well when fourth in the Apprentice Derby at the Curragh and has to enter calculations along with Zuhra who steps up to 1m4f for the first time after keeping on for third at Leopardstown. The McNally stable was back amongst the winners earlier in the week and the bookies will likely take no chances with All Class.
