Oddschecker tips for every race at Newmarket on Thursday.
IVORY MADONNA sets a tough standard for the opposition to beat having finished third in the Albany at Royal Ascot on her second outing. Richard Spencer's filly is expected to use that experience to best effect with the majority of her rivals making their debut. Canadiansmokeshow cost 290,000 euros and she commands plenty of respect being closely related to some smart individuals, including Going Global, a Grade 1 winner in the US, and Listed scorer Mitbaahy. Miss New York represents a team who have enjoyed plenty of debut success with their juveniles so she has to enter calculations, while Mystic Pearl and Funny Story are others worth considering.Prediction : 1st Ivory Madonna 2nd Canadiansmokeshow 3rd Miss New York
MASEKELA ran with plenty of credit to finish fourth in the Derby when keeping on well in the closing stages and Andrew Balding's colt, who was stepping up beyond 1m1f for the first time on that occasion, could have more to offer. Walk Of Stars was gelded after finishing last at Epsom and it would be no surprise to see him bounce back from that performance. Zechariah took a big step forward when just denied in the Queen's Vase at Royal Ascot and he warrants consideration, along with Al Qareem, who was fourth in the aforementioned contest after setting a strong pace. Prediction : 1st Masekela 2nd Walk Of Stars 3rd Zechariah
Richard Hannon has won this contest on three occasions since 2014, including with Lusail 12 months ago, and PERSIAN FORCE boasts strong credentials in his attempt to get his head back in front. He lost his unbeaten record when runner-up in the Coventry at Royal Ascot, but connections have been particularly bullish about his claims for this in recent days and the son of Mehmas is expected to bounce back. Little Big Bear landed the Windsor Castle at the Royal meeting and the extra furlong is unlikely to pose any concerns. Brave Nation was unlucky when hampered in the Norfolk and he has to be respected, along with Mysterious Night, a winner on his second start at Newbury.Prediction : 1st Persian Force 2nd Little Big Bear 3rd Brave Nation
The unexposed Khanjar brushed aside his rivals on seasonal reappearance last month and the son of Kodiac merits the utmost respect off 9lb higher. Preference, however, is for top-weight HIERARCHY, who drops into handicap company after disappointing in the Commonwealth Cup last time. The Hugo Palmer-trained colt may be able to bounce back in these calmer waters and he is preferred from stall 18. Although Ingra Tor failed to fire at York on his latest outing, he remains lightly raced and may take a step forward.Prediction : 1st Hierarchy 2nd Khanjar 3rd Ingra Tor
Although Mostahdaf was no match for Broome in the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot, the son of Frankel hit the line with plenty of conviction to secure the runner-up spot. He demands the utmost respect, but another chance is given to last year's Breeders' Cup Turf winner, YIBIR, to bounce back to form after disappointing in the Man o'War Stakes last time. The Charlie Appleby-trained gelding returned with an unlucky second in the Sheema Classic and despite not being able to reproduce that level of form subsequently, this looks like a good opportunity to get back on track. Living Legend can follow them home.Prediction : 1st Yibir 2nd Mostahdaf 3rd Living Legend
MIGHTY ULYSSES was far from disgraced when stepped up to Group 1 company in the St James's Palace at Royal Ascot last month. He was beaten by less than a length on that occasion and a reproduction of that level of form today would make him hard to beat. Berkshire Shadow was not far behind the selection that day and is an obvious threat. Albahr failed to fire on the dirt at Meydan when last seen in January, but he was a Grade 1 winner in Canada last year and has to be of some interest on his return. The Acropolis bounced back to form when narrowly beaten in a Listed race at the Curragh last time and he could make the frame again. Prediction : 1st Mighty Ulysses 2nd Berkshire Shadow 3rd Albahr
The unexposed ENFORCED made a winning handicap debut over C&D a couple of weeks ago and a 5lb rise for that success may still underestimate the son of Zoffany. Evocative Spark is another recent winner who is likely to go well this afternoon. Coase was only beaten a neck into second when last seen over a mile at Sandown two starts ago and he should not be underestimated. Prediction : 1st Enforced 2nd Evocative Spark 3rd Coase
