New Bay filly NIZAAKA looked on good terms with herself winning convincingly over C&D 3 weeks ago. She was keen enough but kept finding and was nicely on top at the line. She is up 5lb but the form has been well advertised since with the third Divine Magic winning at Leicester next time out. I thought she’d be shorter than 5/2 so she looks a good bet to justify favouritism with the promise of more to come. La Maquina won this race last year so may well emerge as the main danger. Ataser was back in the winning groove to score over C&D last time and up 4lb would also have to be on the radar. He is actually fairly lightly raced so you couldn’t rule out another solid run here. Lord Rapscallion is on a lengthy losing run but he has knocked loudly on the door the last twice so he’d also have to be considered.

Oasis Dream filly PEGGY SIOUX ran a monster race to finish third at Royal Ascot last month and given that was just her fifth start there is good reason to think there is more to come. She is up 3lb but is clearly improving and given this is easier she could take a lot of beating. Ghathanfar is battled hardened and clocked a career best at Pontefract last time so would have to be considered as one of the dangers. King Of Tonga is up 6lb from that Chester win but his form is hard to question this season running really consistently and it’s hard to see how he won’t be far away again here. If the selection is the potential improver in the field though he may struggle to contain her late. Prospect has been running to a decent level recently as well but again will likely need more to challenge those at the top of the market.
