Earn Your Stripes won over C&D last time but has been raised 4lb for that half-length success and looks vulnerable, specifically to REFUGE, who has already scored twice at this venue this season. Michael and David Easterby's five-year-old was denied his hat-trick when just touched off by a head at Ayr last time and it appears likely that this gelding will make another bold bid today. Astapor (third) reopposes Refuge (first) after their C&D clash last week, but John David Riches' runner is on much better terms with that rival this time around and could be in the mix.

Ana Gold ran a good race last time over 7f at Carlisle when she was a close-up second, so arrives here in good form. However, Richard's Fahey's charge isn't guaranteed to appreciate the step up to a mile, which may leave her vulnerable and slight preference is for HE'S A GENTLEMAN, who has racked up a trio of second places on his last three runs. Hugo Palmer's three-year-old ran in a decent race at Leicester last time, where the third has come out and run with credit at Haydock (third) since. Cosmos Raj can make up the placings.

PONS AELIUS ran a cracking race last time off a mark of 75, when beaten a length and three-quarters in second at Newcastle over the extended 1m4f. Racing off a 5lb lower mark now back on turf, Charlie and Mark Johnston's three-year-old appears likely to make another bold bid. Nova Legend is likely to be popular with punters and this drop back to 1m5f looks a positive step, but he colt does often find one too good. Wickywickywheels is likely to be challenging right to the line.

WILD THUNDER was an impressive winner at Nottingham on Saturday over 1m2f, scoring readily by five lengths. Michael and David Easterby's five-year-old has been raised 6lb for that success and that may not be enough to stop him from scoring again. Clan Jock was beaten a length and a half last time over 1m4f at Beverley and thus appears likely to be challenging right to the line off the same mark today. Lochnaver heads the remainder.

COSA SARA has already won three times this season and this looks like a good opportunity to notch a fourth. Jim Goldie's filly is running off the same mark of 56 than when beaten by just three-quarters of a length at Ayr and looks set for another bold bid. Fire In The Rain was a close-up third last time at Beverley and the four-year-old appears likely to go close again, while connections of Time To Rumble will be hoping his 1lb rise doesn't stop him from going one better than his neck second at Redcar last time.
