FORTUNATE FRED perhaps hasn't quite fulfilled the promise he showed at the beginning of his career, but he made a pleasing enough return from a break when third at Fontwell. Granted natural improvement, he can get off the mark at the chief expense of Tip Top Tonto, who had a subsequent winner behind him when getting closest to a decent sort at Bangor. Gold Wing was nothing special on the level but is worth a look on her first taste of jumping action.
Prediction : 1st Fortunate Fred 2nd Tip Top Tonto 3rd Gold Wing

Secret Boris didn't make it to the racecourse too often in France, but he did manage to win a chase and is open to any amount of improvement. He hasn't been seen for the best part of a year, though, so is passed over in favour of VINNIE THE HODDIE, who showed his appreciation for the return to the larger obstacles by scoring over the extended 2m here. Fat Sam is the one who reverts to fences now and could do better for it.
Prediction : 1st Vinnie The Hoddie 2nd Secret Boris 3rd Fat Sam

This looks to be a nice bit of placing by David Pipe with AL ROC. The ex-French 11-year-old took a while to find his level over here, but last week's Market Rasen triumph was his fourth in less than two months. All of those victories came over fences, but he switches to timber off a considerably lower mark and can take full advantage. Tulin will pop up before too long, and Chapmanshype has also slipped to an attractive rating.
Prediction : 1st Al Roc 2nd Tulin 3rd Chapmanshype

Joe Tizzard is enjoying his summer jumps racing at this track and HELFORD RIVER could quite easily bounce back from a disappointing Stratford display given he's a previous course scorer. He makes plenty of appeal for an in-form yard off bottom weight, but keep an eye on Dogon at the other end of the weights as he won well over a bit further at Fontwell in May. Steady The Ship can also get involved.
Prediction : 1st Helford River 2nd Dogon 3rd Steady The Ship

Thahab Ifraj's claims are there for all to see, as he has performed well in defeat the last twice at a slightly higher level than this. Getting plenty of weight from the Alexandra Dunn-trained gelding is KARANNELLE, though, and she is preferred. She also comes into this in good nick having performed with credit at Worcester and Ffos Las, and her supporters will be pleased to see that Sean Bowen keeps the ride. Sergeant would be no surprise winner either.
Prediction : 1st Karannelle 2nd Thahab Ifraj 3rd Sergeant

COME ON DU BERLAIS has to concede weight to the field in the finale but is difficult to get away from given she represents the powerful Gordon Elliott yard and was most impressive on this ground when opening her account at Kelso at the end of May. Justmyimagination finished runner-up on her introduction at Worcester and heads the list of dangers from Midnight Rose.
Prediction : 1st Come On Du Berlais 2nd Justmyimagination 3rd Midnight Rose
